Happy Birthday 3

The theme for this card is Monochrome, which matches 3 challenges.

This card is pretty self-explanatory. I snipped the corners of the sentiment (Hero Arts) panel with special scissors that I've had for some time. The embellishment is a piece of corrugated paper cut into a circle, and I cut the small black circle with a die and my die-cutting machine. I made two slits and thread in some kraft-colored twine. I glued that down to the card front.

Midge is Simple

Or is it, Midge makes things simple?

I think Midge is simple. Nothing is that easy, or maybe it is...

This card was super simple to make. I stamped the image and words in Versafine Onyx Black. I cut out the panel and adhered it to black card stock, creating a border. Then, I adhered it to white card stock. And, there you go...

Hello

I made this in the dark with only a headlamp to work by. The whistle of the hurricane winds and the spatter of the rain surrounded us. We were without electricity. This morning, I looked at the card and thought I did a pretty good job considering. Now, we are surrounded by sunshine and calm breezes as if nothing had happened. Our hearts go out to those who suffered damage from the storm.

I chose an A2-sized card blank in dark brown. First,I cut down a piece of watercolor paper that I had stained with coffee grounds. It made a nice mottled background. I adhered that to the card blank. Next, I cut three identical die cuts with Sizzix - T!m Holtz - Wildflower Stems #1 and glued them down next to each other one shorter than the next. I started with the same dark brown as the card blank, then I went to beige and then to ivory. After that, I stamped the word "HELLO" (Studio G) with Distress Inks Gathered Twigs onto ivory card stock and adhered it to a piece of dark brown to create a border which I glued into place on the card.

How's that for a monochromatic brown card? I think it turned out pretty well considering!
