"L" is For Lucky Ladybug

 It isn't very often I stamp three items about the same amount apart and have them look even, but that's what happened here. So, I ran with it and made this card.

I started this slimline card with stamping the ladybugs (Anita's) and the sentiment (Stampers Anonymous). I chose this plaid patterned for the next layer down and green for the card base. I used double-side tape to adhere the plaid panel to the card base. Finally, I colored the middle ladybug's wings with a red Prismacolor pencil.

This is a slimline card, and it measures 3 1/2" by 8 1/2".

First, I painted the Bristol paper using Distress Inks Brushed Corduroy and Candied Apple as watercolor attempting to mimic Kraft and red (along with black) for a color challenge. Then, I stamped the Darkroom Door Number border stamp across the bottom using Versafine Onyx. Last, I stamped the sentiment (Stampin' Up! Itty Bitty Birthdays) on the top right.

Proof of Miracles

There's a trend in card-making that's becoming popular, and that's called "Slim line" cards. These cards are tall and skinny and fit in a business-sized (#10) envelope. I seem to struggle to fill the card, so I opted for my ol' stand-by, the CAS, or Clean And Simple, card.

 I started by cutting my card blank 7" by the width of paper, or 8 1/2", out of a navy blue cardstock and folded it in half lengthwise. Then, I cut a panel out of brown-speckled tan cardstock at 8" by 3".

I first stamped the bird (maker unknown) in Coffee Bean and covered it with a mask. Then, I stamped the flowers in Green before stamping the sentiment (Insightful Meadows by Unity) in Ultramarine. I used Vivid ink pads.
