I started this A2-sized card by stamping the sentiment (Stampin' Up!) using Distress Ink. Then, I cut the center panel and the card base. Next, I adhered the center panel to the card base with double-sided tape and used double-sided foam tape to pop the sentiment.

Tea for One

 I started this A2-sized card by stamping the tea cup (Darkroom Door) on a manila-colored card stock using Distress ink in Vintage Photo. I colored it using my Prismacolor colored pencils. Then, I cut it out by hand, using scissors and a craft knife. After that, I die cut the green panel. Next, I cut the card base. Finally, I layered all of the elements.

Season's Greetings

This tag measures about 7 1/2" by 3 3/4". This consists of two separate tags that swing independently and are held together with a thin white ribbon. I stamped the sentiment (Hero Arts) with Distress Inks in Pine Needles. The sew-on trim at the bottom of the white and red tag are tiny little jingle bells and beads and are adhered with glue.

This Christmas tag measures about 5 1/2" by 3 3/4" altogether. The two tags swing independently of each other, and they are held together with a medium green wide satin ribbon. I stamped the sentiment with Distress Ink in Pine Needles.

Happy Holidays 1

This tag measures about 4 1/2" by 3 1/4" overall. The tag consists of two complete tags stacked on top of one another. They swing freely of one another, too. The three shiny lines of bling are self-adhesive double rows of connected light green gems. I used an unexpected red ribbon to tie the two tags together in a double knot. I stamped the sentiment with Distress Ink in Pine Needles to match the darker paper.

I started this A2-sized card by die cutting/embossed a bunch of leaves out of a sturdy gold card stock. Then, I stamped the "wind" swoosh (All Night Media) using Distress ink in Stormy Sky. Then, I scattered the leaves around the page, gluing them down as I went along.

I started this black, A2-sized card by watercoloring a piece of watercolor paper measuring just 1/8" shy of an A2-sized card. I used Distress ink in spiced Marmalade. Then, I cut two die cuts using my Big Kick and heavy black card stock. I glued those to the watercolor paper, one at the top and one at the bottom.

House Numbers

 I started this 4 1/4" square card by first watercoloring a mixed media thick paper with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and Spiced Marmalade. When that was dry, I spattered the panel and stamped the numbers with Vintage Photo. Then, I stamped the houses on manila-colored card stock. The houses on the right and left also have numbers on them, albeit quite small.After that, I used double-sided tape to adhere the 3 1/2" square panel to the card base.

Numbers Grid

I started this A2-sized card by watercoloring mixed media paper with Distress Inks in the following colors: Shabby Shutters, Spiced Marmalade and spattered with Vintage Photo. Then, I stamped the number grid (Paula's Kit Club) on top of that using Versafine Onyx ink. After that, I stamped the line of numbers all the way down the right hand side of an orange card stock and taped that to a manila-colored card base. Finally, I used double-sided tape to adhere the numbers grid to the orange card stock.

Sleeping Beauty

I started the A2-sized card by stamping the woman (Rubber Stampede) on white card stock and cut it down with my paper trimmer. I matted that on navy blue card stock. Then, I stamped the background using Distress Ink in Chipped Sapphire. I matted that on the same navy blue card stock. I placed that panel on a white card stock base and adhered the framed Beauty to that off-center. I used chalk to enhance her lips and to give her a rosy cheek.

This is a very simple A2-sized card. People are using symbols more, and they mean different things, when they write these days, so I'm playing with that. I am also playing with the sketch below.

I stamped the asterisk (Hero Arts) using Distress Ink in Faded Jeans, and I stamped the "at" sign (Stampabilities) and the sentiment (RRR) with Versafine in Onyx. I die cut the ampersand.

Patterns in Navy

 This is a slimline card measuring 3 1/2" by 8 1/2". I started by using 3 different background stamps and stamped the small panels from Crumb Cake card stock using Distress Ink in Chipped Sapphire. I used double-sided tape to adhere those to Night of Navy card stock. I taped that to the Crumb Cake card stock and taped that to a Misti Moonlight card stock card base.

Trick or "Tweet"

This is an A2-sized card. I started with a white base and stamped the three "jailbirds" (Inkadinkado) in Versafine Onyx ink. I extended the wire on each side. I colored in the images using my Prismacolor colored pencils. After that, I inked in the surrounding "sky" using Distress ink in Chipped Sapphire and a round sponge dauber. Next, I stamped the spider web (PSX) and the music notes (?). Finally, I stamped the sentiment (also Inkadinkado) on yellow card stock and cut it out with a circle die. I positioned it to look like the full moon.

Just Because

This is an A2-sized card. I started by cutting the navy piece of card stock and used a punch to get the zig-zag design. I adhered it with double-sided tape even with the right side of the card base. Then, I die cut the leaf fronds and glued them to the navy panel. Next, I stamped the sentiment (Stampabilities) with Distress Ink in Chipped Sapphire and popped it up with double-sided foam tape.

This tag measures about 2 3/4" by 6" without the tassel. I started this tag by blending the background. I used Distress ink pads in orange and two different blues. Then, using my MISTI, I stamped the tree scene in Versafine Onyx several times until I had a good image. The last thing I did was feed the tassel into the hole of the tag.

Pears and Kumquats

This card measures 5" square. The embossing folder and dies are made by Stampin' Up!. 

I started this card by cutting a piece of reddish-brown sturdy scrapbook paper 5" by 12". I inked up an embossing folder by running the Distress ink pad (Gathered Twigs) on the raised side. Then, I laid the paper inside, closed the embossing folder and ran it through my Big Kick. After that, I cut it down to 5" by 10" and folded it in half.

To make the wreath, I die cut two different wreaths out of a light and dark green textured scrapbook paper. I intertwined them by moving some of the dark green leaves in the back to the front. Then, I die cut the pears out of a golden yellow card stock. Next, I cut the kumquats out of orange card stock using a hand-held round hole punch. I glued both elements to the wreath.

I made this card specifically for the challenge listed below, and I used all six colors matching them as closely as I could.

A Birthday Celebration!

Seize the Birthday challenge blog is celebrating their 200th challenge, and I am going to help them celebrate! I was inspired by the colors of pink, blue, purple and yellow, the three balloons and spatters.

 

This is an A2-sized card. I used watercolor paper for the panel and the balloons.

I started by setting up my palette. I used Distress inks as watercolors: Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet and Squeezed Lemonade. I started with the first three colors for the balloons. I put them on one piece of paper so I could get some movement of the watercolors. After that dried, I punched the balloons out using a Stampin' Up! punch. I tied black thread to each balloon and secured it with a dot of glue.

Then, I moved to the watercolor paper panel. I used the yellow as the background. I smeared it onto the paper in a back and forth motion. I didn't go to the edges. I spattered the first three colors onto the panel. It didn't take this long to dry because I used a relatively dry brush. Next, I stamped the sentiment (Stampin' Up!). I adhered the panel to the turquoise card base with double-sided tape.

The last thing I did was to glue the two balloons to the panel. I used double-sided foam tape to lift the purple balloon on the right.

Hello

With this card, I started with a 3 1/2" square of Kraft card stock. I used 1" masking tape to pick up ink (Distress Oxide Inks) from a palette. I used Abandoned Coral, Ripe Persimmon and their complement, Broken China. I didn't change the tape between colors. I placed that panel on blue, then orange and yellow in graduating sizes until I finally placed it on a 4 1/2" square Kraft card base. After that, I placed the whole card in my small MISTI to make sure the sentiment (Stampin' Up! "Hello Friend") was straight and dark enough. I stamped it three times with Distress Oxide in Black Soot.

Awesome at Any Age

 

This is a slimline card, and it measures 3 1/2" by 8 1/2".

First, I painted the Bristol paper using Distress Inks Brushed Corduroy and Candied Apple as watercolor attempting to mimic Kraft and red (along with black) for a color challenge. Then, I stamped the Darkroom Door Number border stamp across the bottom using Versafine Onyx. Last, I stamped the sentiment (Stampin' Up! Itty Bitty Birthdays) on the top right.
