It's the Life in Your Years

I love this saying! It's a new-to-me stamp.

I started this A2-sized card with a brown card stock base. Then, I used double-sided tape to adhere a cream-colored panel to that. Next, I stamped the saying (Outlines Rubber Stamps) using Archival Distress Ink in ground espresso in the middle of the cream panel. After that, I cut 1-inch-wide strips in brown and rust and adhered them to the card using double-sided tape.

A Note For You

 This card measures 4 1/4" square, and the base layer is cream. On top of that, I added a piece of scrapbook paper that is predominately rust. Then, I die cut two wreaths - one of cream and the other of brown. I intertwined them and glued them to the card. Next, I stamped the sentiment (Stampin' Up!) using Archival Distress ink on cream and glued that to the wreath.

Mushroom Tag

This tag measures about 6" by 3" without the fibers. I first cut the tag, clipped the top corners and punched the hole at the top. Then, I cut the brown accent paper at 2" and ran it through my hand-held crimper to create texture. I attached that to the tag base using double-sided tape. Next, I used a hand-held punch to cut out the oval showcasing a few mushrooms and taped that to the brown accent piece. After that, I stamped the word "specimen" (Fusion Art Stamps) using Archival Distress Ink in gray and glued that to the brown paper. Finally, I cut several lengths of fiber and string and thread it through the hole at the top of the tag. That created more texture.

Silence of the Lambs

I started this 4 1/4" square card by cutting the base, which is a medium blue. Then, I cut a panel of its opposite at 4" square and used double-sided tape to adhere it to the base. Then, I cut a piece of vellum to cover the front and fold over to the back where I could tape it down without the tape showing.  After that, I stamped the picture of the child (Magenta) in Versafine Onyx and the moth (?) in Archival Distress ink in Vintage Photo. I used the paper trimmer to cut out the child, and I cut the moth out using my craft knife. I smudged a bit of chalk for rosy cheeks and colored the eyes blue. Finally, I adhered the square of the child to a black piece of card stock, and I glued the moth over the mouth, like the photo that goes with the movie, Silence of the Lambs. I doubt that I'll be actually sending this out as a greeting card, but you never know...

Spooky Mansion 

Fir Tree Tag

 This tag measures approximately 2 1/2" by 4 1/2". I started this tag by die cutting the tag itself out of manila-colored card stock. Then, I die cut the trees out of two different textured green card stocks. I glued the lighter colored trees in back to indicate that they are further away. Next, I stamped "for you" (Stampin' Up!) and "peace" (Hero Arts) using a gray Archival Distress ink. Finally, I tied a piece of ric- rack to the top.

Fall is in the Air

This little round card will fit in an envelope sized for an A2 card. The challenge calls for a card that isn't rectangular or square, so I came up with a round one.

I started by stamping the gingham check on a manila-colored card stock using Archival Distress ink. Then, I cut it out using a pumpkin die. I cut out a gray one, too. I assembled the pumpkin on an A2-sized manila card base. Next, I cut it out using my largest circle die. I did aim to cut it short, so I could use the fold of the card base, but it wasn't meant to be. So, I used small staples to hold the circles together and folded it along that line. After that, I die cut two leaves and the curlicue out of a shimmery copper and a textured green card stock. Finally, I stamped the sentiment (Northwoods Rubber) and cut  it out with a circle punch and glued it down on top of the leaves.

Gray Gingham Plaid Pumpkin and Garland

I started this A2-sized card by stamping the garland (Stampin' Up!) at the top with Archival Distress ink. I punched out some orange "pumpkins" and glued them to the garland. Then, I stamped the gingham plaid on a piece of card stock to match the card base using Archival Distress ink. I die cut the pumpkin out of that as well as a piece of gray scrapbook paper. I combined the two and glued them to the card base. I added the stem and glued it down.

Autumn Leaves and Plaid

This is an A2-sized card. I started this card by adhering the background plaid paper to the card base with double-sided tape. Then, I die cut the leaves and glued them to the background. Next, I stamped the sentiment (Hero Arts) on yellow card stock using Archival Distress ink. I glued that down.

Pumpkin Garland

I made this A2-sized card especially for the challenge listed below. I started by stamping the garland (Stampin' Up!) at the top of the card using Archival Distress ink. Then, I punched out little orange dots with my hole punch and glued them to the garland. Next, I punched out small squares and arranged them on a gray scrapbook paper to make the "pillow". I placed that on another gray square. The other "pillow" is a golden yellow square.

Coffee and a Cookie

I started this card by using a Kraft-colored, A2-sized card base. I stamped the coffee container (Darkroom Door)on a scrap of Kraft-colored card stock using Archival Distress ink and cut it out by hand. I stamped the cookie (Stampin' Up!) and used the appropriately-sized punch to cut it out. Then, I used double-sided foam tape to adhere the coffee container to a very dark brown card stock. I cut the coffee bean paper to measure about 3/4" by 4 1/2" and adhered it to the card base using double-sided tape. Then, I taped the coffee container to the card base. Finally, I glued on the cookie.

Autumn

This is an ATC (Artist Trading Card), measuring 2 1/2" by 3 1/2".

I started this ATC by gluing some German text to a sturdy substrate. Then, I stamped the word Autumn (Hero Arts) to one side using Archival Distress ink. I tore some orange gingham text-weight scrapbook paper and glued it to the bottom left of the card. I die cut all of the leaves and glued them in a pleasing manner to the card.

True Signs of the Season

It's that time of year when the Monarch butterflies come through on their way south, and the wheat is getting to the point of harvest time.

This challenge is about using recycled elements in the card. The elements I used are the insides of a business window envelope, a scrap with just enough space for the butterfly and the sentiment comes from the large magazine that I use to keep my desk clean from ink and glue.

I started with an A2-sized white card base. I dry fitted the window of the envelope so I could get the placement of the wheat (Inkadinkado) just right. I used my MISTI to do this. I stamped the wheat on the card base using Archival Distress Ink. Then, using double-sided tape and glue, I adhered the piece of the window envelope to the card base. Next, I stamped the butterfly (Embossing Arts Co.) on a scrap of orange card stock with Versafine Onyx. I looked for a sentiment from the magazine and found something about the season. The author was actually talking about Christmas, but it seems equally appropriate here.

Dream

This was an easy top-folded, A2-sized card. First, I stamped all the coffee cups (Stampin' Up! Like it a Latte) in various colors of Distress Oxide ink and cut them out by hand. I stacked them and glued them one on top of another. I taped the stack onto the card base using double-sided tape. I stamped the sentiment (Inkadinkado) using Archival Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. I cut it out using my paper trimmer and attached it to the card base with doubled-sided tape.

Oooh-la-la!

Does it sound like Paris? Oui!

I started this A2-sized card by stamping the Eiffel Tower (Stampington & Company) on vellum using Archival Distress Ink in a Hickory Smoke, or a light gray, and cut it out around the border. Then, I cut the white card blank and randomly stamped it with Distress Ink in Mermaid Lagoon (teal) and Mustard Seed.

After that, I attached the vellum piece to the card using washi tape in silver/gray. Finally, I stamped the sentiment (Hampton Arts) in the lower right hand corner using Versafine Onyx.
