Fonda's Fabulous Funday Finds #5

When Katie and I go to Southport (NC), we make a day of it and visit as much as we can before our day is done. Downtown Southport probably has about 4 thrift/vintage/antique stores. One is a mall with a second floor. Southport has plenty more places, but what I am talking about is close to the water. Southport was where Safe Haven was filmed. Nicholas Sparks wrote the book. Maybe you are familiar with it.

Anyway, here's what we found at the Dosher Hospital thrift store:

Dosher Hospital Thrift Store
The big round thing is a cat toy.

Ribbon
Since I sew, these two bolts of ribbon might come in handy.

I thought this was the cutest game. The dogs are so sweet. It's a German game, I think. I guess it's played like dominoes.

Envelopes
These are textured silver envelopes. I make cards, so these will be useful.

The next items are from the Northrup Mall:

Northrup Mall
We only purchased these five items, but it was fun to see what was in the other booths.

Trading Stamps
These are old trading stamps given out at the A&P. I'll use them in my art.

Fat Quarters
We could have brought more fabric home, but we have plenty!!!

Metal Collapsible Ruler
This folding metal ruler will become a piece of decor. What is it that makes me love them?

This is the only thing we found at the Timeless Treasures:

Needle Punch
I have dreams of making a rug, and this needle punch will help me accomplish that.

It's fun seeing, finding and purchasing different stuff.

    1. I'll see what I can do about blogging about some of my art. I may have to photograph some old pieces, because I haven't been very creative lately. The studio is in sort of a shambles. Katie has been quilting, so she's taking up some space, and we tend to set stuff in there. Even though it belongs, we are running out of space and haven't been able to put it away. It's time to go through things and see if I still NEED it! I'm glad you stopped by!

  4. Fun to see what you found. I love the bolts of ribbon and the game! I always check the craft isle at thrift shops. Last Christmas my 8 year old granddaughter asked for craft supplies. I bought her the cutest basket and I found so many wonderful unopened craft items for her from our thrift shop. They would have cost alot at a craft store. Needless to say that she loved it and has crafted away. She says, "I get it from you grammy". :)
    hugs,

    1. I wish my grandchildren lived close by. We could do plenty of things together, and I would know the kinds of things that they would like to do with me. Oh, well...They'll be visiting in June, but the problem is this: there are so many people to accommodate that they have to stay in the craft room which we have moved around so they could sleep on the floor in sleeping bags! So, we can't get to the fun stuff. Thanks for visiting, Jann!

    1. I don't think it has all of its pieces, and there are no instructions on how to play the game. And, if there were, they would probably be in a language we don't know how to read or understand! lol I got them because they are cute, and maybe I will use them in my art.
