Celebrate: Autumn

I used my current favorite fall papers from Bo Bunny's 6" by 6" paper pad called Beautifully Brisk Collection.

It's pretty self-explanatory how I made this card. The leaves above "Celebrate" (Stampin' Up!) are the same as the band that has "Autumn" (Hero Arts) stamped on it. I just cut them out and placed them as though they were falling. I glued on three blue gems to match the blue in the papers.

Celebrate: Happy Birthday

I love using patterned paper, and this one is gorgeous. I used both sides in order to get the yellow just right.

I used dark gray as the accent color, making a border for the whole card and being the border behind the two sentiments (Stampin' Up!) as well as the leaves (Spellbinders: Aren't You Sweet). It's kind of hard to tell, but the leaves are embossed to show the veins.

What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 536

Stamping Ground has an event every Wednesday asking us to show photos of our desk. So far, mine is only getting worse!

This photo shows my desk to the left of my proverbial square foot (and shrinking) of actual working space. There's my stack of recent cards just left of center in the foreground. The tower of used stamps grows on this side.

To the right of the paper cutter are paper remnants. I did clean this off, because it was getting to the point where the remnants were too thick, so I tossed them in the scrap bin which is just below the paper cutter. Sometimes, I actually sift through there to find a small piece of card stock to use.

This is underneath the table...boxes of rubber stamps and my heat gun.

This is another tower of rubber stamps and supplies.

There's a box of supplies that I have or haven't been using. It needs to be put away! Katie, my sweetie, started another box of recent acquisitions. I didn't take a photo of that. I forgot.

So, there you have it. I've been quite productive, but soon, I am going to have to put stuff away and clean an awfully big bunch of stamps. Maybe if I ask Katie real nice and sweet, and if she isn't grading papers, maybe she'll help me out. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Black and White 2

I found that I am really limited in the stamps that I can use for this black and white challenge. I was having difficulty showing the proximity of the zebra to the tree. Hopefully, the sun way up above will help, or at least give me the magic number of three.

I started with an A2 card blank in white. I used a tree stamp and a zebra stamp. I stamped them directly on the card blank in black. The dot was a circle cut from black card stock.

Black and White 1

It's difficult to make a card using only blank ink, but I think I pulled it off!

It's difficult to see, but the white card is A2-sized, or 5 1/2" by 4 1/4". I stamped the cat directly on the card blank, and while I also stamped "oops", I goofed, so I stamped it on another piece of white card stock and put a black border around it and glued it over my mistake. It happens to the best of us, huh! This would make a great card admitting a boo boo and trying to fix it.

Black and White

Black and white is an interesting combination. The high contrast is the focus; there is no gray.

The way I made this card is pretty self-explanatory. I used Botanical Tags Thinlits Dies (Sizzix - Stampin' Up!) dies and a white A2 card blank as a base.


 
 

Gifts from the Sea

I don't enjoy going to the beach, but I do appreciate the gifts I have seen from there. Shells and starfish are gathered, and each one is immensely special.

I chose an ivory-colored A2 card blank. First I stamped the scallop shell in Versamark and embossed it in gold. Then, I stamped the other shell in Distress Ink Vintage Photo. I also stamped the starfish in Fossilized Amber. Next, I cut them all out and arranged them on the corrugated paper and glued them down. Then, I adhered that to the card base. Finally, I inked the swirly border in Tumbled Glass and stamped it directly onto the card blank to indicate the sea's waves. (It just needed something there, and I think that works well.)
