I began this A2-sized card by stamping the cat, ball of yarn and sentiment (Stampin' Up!). I "doctored up" the cat a little by adding brown stripes and kooky green eyes. I used double-sided tape and adhered that panel to the two layers of Basic Grey paper, which I adhered to a golden-colored card stock.

Splitcoast Stampers - 2 different challenges
In the Splitcoast Stamper's group, I learned how to make this diorama card. It is made using a series of scores and folds and a circle die cut.
Below the circle cut, decorate the page (see figure on the right) using designer papers. Stamp the sentiment (Stampin' Up!) on a strip of yellow gingham paper (Echo Park). The dots are from Cosmo Cricket. Decorate the front as desired (see the left figure). Stamp the sentiment (Hero Arts) on a narrow strip of yellow gingham paper. Cut out a cupcake from designer paper (Basic Grey) and place double-sided foam tape on the back. Set aside.
To make the diorama, lay the card stock down on the table with the 10" fold to the right. Fold that fold to the left, and use a bone folder after each fold to make a crisp corner. Next, move the 7" fold to the left. Finally, move the 6 1/2" fold to the left. Stand the card up, and you can see that a box has been formed with the 2" cut circle to the front. Use strong double sided tape on the thin flap (between 10" and 10 1/2") and secure at the 3 1/2" score to make a 4-sided box. Square it up to the front of the card, revealing the space where the cupcake should be placed so that it can be seen well from the front of the card. Place the cupcake there.
To close the card, fold the front over the part with the cut-out circle allowing the back of the card to move and become flat. The card can be mailed in an A2 envelope or a stationary envelope (not a business-sized envelope, but the other kind).
