Silhouette Cardinal

I began this A2-sized card with a white card base. I added the plaid and rust-colored panels. Then, I die cut the cardinal out of black card stock and glued it to the top panel. The cardinal die cut is new, and I haven't used it until now. It was a freebie from Simon Says Stamp with a purchase of a Tim Holtz product.

It's the Life in Your Years

I love this saying! It's a new-to-me stamp.

I started this A2-sized card with a brown card stock base. Then, I used double-sided tape to adhere a cream-colored panel to that. Next, I stamped the saying (Outlines Rubber Stamps) using Archival Distress Ink in ground espresso in the middle of the cream panel. After that, I cut 1-inch-wide strips in brown and rust and adhered them to the card using double-sided tape.

A Note For You

 This card measures 4 1/4" square, and the base layer is cream. On top of that, I added a piece of scrapbook paper that is predominately rust. Then, I die cut two wreaths - one of cream and the other of brown. I intertwined them and glued them to the card. Next, I stamped the sentiment (Stampin' Up!) using Archival Distress ink on cream and glued that to the wreath.

Masculine Birthday

This masculine birthday card measures approximately 4 1/2" by 6 1/8" and begins with a cream card stock base. I made the plaid using a Stampin' Up! die set, using rust and brown. I die cut "happy" and stamped "birthday" using a Unity die cut and stamp set. 

I used the Stampin' Up set for the first time this evening while making this card.

Repeat Impressions Anything Goes Challenge ~ J621 

Happy New Year

I began this A2-sized card with a light blue base. Then, I die cut "happy" (Unity) and glued it to the strip of orange-ish scrapbook paper. I glued that to the plaid scrapbook paper and adhered that to the card base with double-sided tape. After that, I punched out the balloons using a Stampin' Up! punch. I used my mini MISTI to stamp the sentiment (Unity) on the balloon using Versafine Onyx. I tied black thread around each of them. I glued two small ones to the card and popped out the two larger ones with double-sided foam tape. 

The die and stamp combination is something new I just received!

Moving Along With the Times - Challenge 126 for January   

Celebrate Today

 I began this A2-sized card with a white base. I die cut 3 circles times 2 and glued one to the next starting with the largest in each set. Then, I cut them in half. I used one from each set to make the design. But, first I stamped the sentiment (Stampin' Up!) using Colorbox Chalk in Lipstick Red on white card stock. I glued it to the center of the card. Then, I built the design around it centering the elements around the sentiment. Next, I added some red enamel dots to the ends of the paper with the sentiment on it. Finally, I stamped the stars (Stampendous) in two opposite corners.

This card was made loosely following the directions and pictures from Lee-Ann Greff.

Sparkle & Shine

 I began this A2-sized card with a white base. Then, I adhered the light blue frosted card stock to the base. Next, I cut and adhered the two mirrored silver panels on each side of the blue. After that, I die cut the word "Sparkle" also using the mirrored silver card stock. I glued this to the card and used alphabet stickers for the "& SHINE". I took the challenge literally!

Plaid

 I began this A2-sized card by cutting the green panel. I adhered that to a white card base. Then, I adhered the plaid panel on top of that. Next, I stamped the deer and sentiment (maker unknown) on a white panel with Colorbox Chalk Lipstick Red which I adhered on top of everything.

The Male Room - Challenge #145 - Tartan & Plaid  

Mom

It is with a heavy heart that I pass the news of my mom's death onto my readers. She passed this evening at 6:50 after a full day of visitors. She was under hospice care for the last few days.

My mother, Cathy Hausser, had dementia and was in a memory care facility, but that is not what killed her. It was the coronavirus that took her life, perhaps mercifully way before her body would succumb to the dementia. 

This is my mother and me at Graeter's Ice Cream Shop. It was the last weekend I would be see her in person.

And, here she is in her memory care facility. It would be one of many visits I would have with her using Facetime.

Due to covid, she was not allowed to leave the facility to get a hair cut. She always kept her thin hair very short. That's a bright red feather in her hair. I treasure the times we spent using Facetime every Friday. Yesterday was the first time I didn't get a call, but she was non-responsive, so I'm glad I wasn't called.

Rest in peace mom! I had you for 64 of your 84 years, and that makes me happy.
